ANNUAL COMMUNITY GATHERING

  • Shelterwood Collective Cazadero, CA (map)

Overview & Site Location

Off-Grid Retreats is grateful to be hosting our second annual Community Gathering!

This is an opportunity for participants, teachers and organizers of nature retreats to gather socially for a laid-back overnight camping & glamping adventure. Friends & family, pets, and anyone with a love of nature welcome! Our community is the reason we do what we do, and this is our way of saying thanks.

For its second year our Community Gathering will once again take place at Shelterwood Collective. This Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQ-led community forest and retreat center heals people and ecosystems through active stewardship and community engagement!

Shelterwood Collective are the stewards of a 900-acre forest and former church camp above the Russian River in Sonoma County, CA, on Unceded Kashaya and Southern Pomo territory. Renovations are underway for cabins and lodging, meanwhile the expansive grounds and riverside meadow are prime spaces for connecting with the outdoors. All of the photos on this webpage were taken onsite at previous events.

Anyone is welcome, especially:

  • Certified teachers - those that teach mindfulness, movement, contemplative and/or other therapeutic practices in northern california AND are also experienced, skilled and/or interested in leading retreats and workshops in nature

  • Practitioners / yogis

  • Fellow nonprofit workers and organizers of outdoor events

  • Retreat site partners or potential site partners

  • Anyone who loves nature and resonates with our mission!

Ticket prices cover meal, site, and lodging costs only—any additional donations will go towards fully sponsoring a retreat in 2024 for our community members who aren’t normally able to access beautiful outdoor spaces.
